Why The Masks?

Posted: December 10, 2011 in Uncategorized
When we freerun sometimes we wear these unique masks. The purpose is that before we airbrushed them they were all white and ordinary, but when we all put our colors on the masks it represented our styles going into our form of freerunning and it separates Odyssey Freerunning from all the others.

Odyssey Freerunning is a Christian team that started in the summer of 2009. We  always enjoyed messing around on the trampoline, and we were not to shabby for begginers either! Once we got tired of doing the same things on the trampoline we decided to try things off the trampoline…we fell…alot, but it was nothing practice could not help! Then one day I found a video on youtube of freerunning. I never have seen anything like it other than gymnastics and it was an immediate feeling that I needed to do it. I told the guys and we thought why not give it a try? Little by little we increased our skills and saw that there were actually freerunning teams on Youtube. One year later began Odyssey Freerunning. After time we relized it does not help just phisically but it is also an art form that you can use in your everyday life. Parkour helped us overcome problems and fear that we faced everyday. Sure, we were not pros at first but training was not only a tiring practice but it was our play time so we got pretty good pretty fast! Training made the team closer than ever. We always know there will always be more things to learn and more obsticals to over come but we face them as a team, and as brothers. So here we are today not getting a bit tired of what parkour and freerunning have to offer but as much as we can possibly love freerunning, it will always come second in our lives. Bringing glory to our Lord and savior, Jesus Christ will always be number one to the team.
